Multiple PDF pages per sheet

How pages are placed

• 2 pages go top and bottom on a portrait sheet, or side by side on a landscape sheet. 4 pages are placed 2 × 2. 6 pages are 2 columns × 3 rows on portrait, or 3 columns × 2 rows on landscape.
• Reading order can be left to right, top to bottom, or right to left (for right-bound or vertically written documents).
• Each page keeps its displayed orientation (including any rotation setting) and aspect ratio, and is scaled to fill its slot and centered. If page sizes differ, each page is scaled separately.
• Pages are embedded as they are, not turned into images, so text and graphics stay sharp. For pages with a crop area, only that area is placed.
• Margins can be None, Narrow (5 mm outside, 3 mm between pages) or Normal (10 mm outside, 5 mm between). Unused slots on the last sheet stay blank.

What is not carried over

Links, annotations (comments and highlights), form fields, digital signatures, bookmarks, accessibility tags, attachments, scripts and layer settings are not carried over to the new PDF. If your PDF contains any of these, it is shown after the file is read.

Printing

When printing the new PDF, choose “Actual size (100%)” in the print settings so the margins come out as set. Booklet imposition and duplex feed settings are not handled.

Supported files and limits

• Up to 25 MB and 200 pages per file. The created PDF can be saved up to 100 MB.
• Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are not supported.
• PDFs whose page content is stored in an unsupported format may not be placed.
