How to use

  • Open an image with Choose image, Use pasted image or Capture screen, then click the spot you want. Dragging updates the color continuously; arrow keys move 1 pixel at a time (10 pixels with Shift).
  • Pick from screen directly only appears in browsers that support the eyedropper (EyeDropper API). It lets you pick one spot anywhere on your screen; press Esc to cancel.
  • Screen capture takes a single still image of the screen, window or tab you choose and stops sharing right away. If you share the entire screen, the captured image contains the entire screen. Choosing only the window or tab you need keeps everything else out.

Values shown

  • HEX (#RRGGBB), RGB, HSL and OKLCH, written as CSS values, each with its own copy button.
  • For transparent pixels, the opacity (alpha) and the colors on a white and a black background are shown too. With opacity, HEX has 8 digits (#RRGGBBAA).
  • Values are 8-bit sRGB (0–255). They don’t measure the image’s color profile, how your display actually shows the color, or print colors (CMYK). Captured screens can differ slightly from the original colors depending on browser and display settings.

Palette

Add to palette keeps picked colors side by side while the page is open. Nothing is saved, so the palette is gone when you close the page. You can copy all HEX codes at once (up to 24 colors).

Limits

  • Images up to 50 MB and 50,000,000 pixels.
  • Images over 16,777,216 pixels (about 4,096×4,096) are scaled down, keeping the aspect ratio, before colors are read. A pixel of the scaled image is the average of several original pixels.

Images, captured screens and picked colors stay on this device and are not sent or saved.

  • Make a solid background transparent

    Turn a white or single-color background transparent and save logos, signatures and line art as transparent PNGs. Choose the color, tolerance and area, and check what will be removed before saving.

    Convert HEIC (HEIF) photos from an iPhone or other devices to JPG on this device and save them. The orientation stays as you see it, and location and other camera data are not included in the JPG.

    Compare a before and after image side by side, overlaid or with a slider, and see which pixels differ, marked in colour and with boxes. Save the difference as a PNG.
